Coastal Angler Science Team (CAST) is a collaboration between anglers and researchers who are dedicated to recreational fisheries. Together we are learning how changes in the Everglades impact coastal fisheries in order to conserve and maintain fishing quality in the future.
CAST grew out of a relationship between a group of dedicated anglers and fisheries researchers. The long term insight gained from their angling experience and their willingness to apply their fishing effort to help answer important research questions started the partnership for CAST. From this, angler involvement now plays a crucial role in recreational fisheries research in the Coastal Everglades.
